Sofitel Hotel West Tahiti Island

The Sofitel Hotel Tahiti underwent a complete facelift in 2006 and offers modern comfortable rooms alongside a small beach close to the international airport. The uninspiring 60's style hotel facade with its eight storey cement building still exists but interior finishings and a mix of contemporary art and bright Polynesia colours make this a pleasant and affordable stopover.

All rooms are identical with bright colours, flat screen TV and small en-suite bathroom with shower, single sink and toilet.

There's a large swimming pool, a reasonable beachfront with pleasant views across a bay of yachts to Moorea Island, two restaurants (one Japanese) and a sunset bar.
